The "see more" option corresponds to the number of threads and thus first-level messages (comments to the article) that are displayed when the page loads before displaying an option to load the same defined quantity of messages per slice.
You also have the choice to enable or disable progressive loading, i.e. as soon as the user scrolls to the bottom of the page, a new batch of comments will be loaded automatically. Or, a set number of comments will be loaded, after which a button will be displayed to reload the same amount.
